Rules of the game
Le Customs Pro Award 2023 est un concours destiné aux spécialistes des douanes travaillant en Belgique
Les participants peuvent s'inscrire dans l'une des trois langues suivantes : Néerlandais ou Français (ou Anglais).
Le concours est organisé par l'ASBL ICC Belgium en collaboration avec ses partenaires et sponsors.
This competition is organized by ICC Belgium with company number 0892. 722. 969 and registered office at Stuiversstraat 8 in 1000 Brussels. Hereinafter referred to as the Organizer.
These contest rules lay down the modalities and conditions of participation applicable to the contest jointly organized by the Organizer under the name “Customs Pro Award”.
The online voting period runs from Friday, September 1, 2023 at 8am until Monday, October 2, 2023 at 8am. The organizer reserves the right to change the dates and time.
The number of votes awarded will not be disclosed – not before, during or after the voting period. One can cast only one (1) vote per email address. Any vote that arrives on the system and is correct will be counted. Duplicate votes or votes cast to unduly influence or increase the vote count will not be counted and will be removed by the organizers. Votes received too early or too late will not be counted.
The shortlist of 8 2023 nominees was published at www.customsproaward.com for the public to cast a preferential vote.
The public jury votes online for one of the 8 nominees for the Customs Pro Award. The nominees were chosen by a jury published at https://customsproaward.com/jury/ Voting is done online at: https://Customsproaward.com/vote
On that page, the public can vote. The jury will also cast their votes. The public and jury votes will be combined with a 40/60 weighting to determine the highest score. In the event of an equal score from the audience jury, the judges will decide who will be the winner.
In case of suspicious and/or fraudulent voting, through the use of automated ballots or any other method to manipulate or influence the voting, the organization of the Customs Pro Award reserves the right to intervene. In such case, the organization may stop voting or remove entries without prior notice or justification. In this context, the organization also reserves the right (if necessary) to blind the number of votes some time before the conclusion of the voting. Such measures and decisions of the organization may be taken unilaterally and cannot be challenged.
Personal data entered by the audience jury or registered on the website are processed in the files of the organizer.

The STEPS
Participation
- The contest is open to all customs specialists working in Belgium.
- Participants must apply online using the form on the website, uploading their CV and a cover letter.
- Participants must submit the form and all attachments by the specified deadline.
Jury and selection process
- The jury will consist of a panel of experienced customs specialists and industry experts.
- The jury will evaluate the applications based on the quality of the submitted documents and the relevance of the candidate's experience and achievements.
- Finalists will be chosen based on these assessments and will be invited to participate in a personal interview.
Prizes
- Each of the 8 nominees will be presented with flowers and a Samsonite travel suitcase.
- In addition to the award, the winner will receive a €1,000 travel voucher and a valuable €7,950 E-learning course pack, courtesy of the WCO Academy.
- Prizes are personal and non-transferable.
Publicity
- The names of finalists and winners may be published on the website and in other media.
- Contestants agree to have their photos and information published on the website and in other media.
Privacy
- Participants' personal information will be kept strictly confidential and used only for the purposes of the contest.
Final Provisions
- The organizer has the right to change the rules of the game or cancel the contest in case of unforeseen circumstances.
- By participating in the contest, participants agree to the rules of the game and all other terms and conditions applicable to the contest.
- Disputes arising from or related to this contest will be submitted to the competent courts.
